Every moment at The Sanctuary is yoga, not just the time on the mat. Our most popular offering for retreat guests is the Waterfall Beauty Ritual: we set our intentions, use house-made elixirs of indigenous herbs, minerals, fruits, oils and flowers to adorn, heal and beautify from head to toe, spend some time in silent meditation to connect with nature, and then enjoy a cleansing swim in one of our secret swimming holes beneath a rushing waterfall. It is heavenly!

Located in Costa Rica, just a thousand yards from the Pacific Ocean, the center is surrounded by lush greenery, with stunning, environmentally-friendly architecture to match -- think solar panels and local materials. The center dishes up gourmet, organic vegetarian and vegan cuisine... It is designed to accommodate yoga beginners and experts alike...

9 Poses for Glowing Winter Skin

“Yoga gives you a glow by boosting your circulation,” says Liz Lindh, a holistic skincare therapist and vinyasa yoga teacher at The Sanctuary at Two Rivers in Cabuya, Costa Rica. “Vital nutrients are more available, so there's more efficient removal of cellular waste. Yoga also promotes lymphatic drainage, which reduces puffiness under the eyes and brightens the complexion.” Lindh created this 9-pose sequence exclusively for YogaJournal.com as an all-natural alternative to the pricey cosmetic solutions. “My yoga practice has expanded my confidence, given me tools to manage stress, and helped me become a happy, healthy, vibrant woman,” she says. “None of this comes in a bottle and it cannot be bought.”

I love it; it's my yoga retreat and favorite destination. It's located in Costa Rica and it's literally a camp for adults. The resort is so beautiful, located between two waterfalls. We are a totally off-the-grid, solar-powered private residence, located just two miles from Costa Rica's first national nature preserve, Reserva Cabo Blanco. The resort is relaxing and there is all in Nature...

I would like the Sanctuary to become a beacon, a special place, for like-minded people to have creative brainstorming sessions in the jungle, as well as eco-summits, family bonding and connecting, and a place for one to expand one's own consciousness. Also, to become as self sustaining as possible by adding a permaculture element to the property and grow our own organic produce. We are already plumbed for it, we just need some more time and energy to embark on this phase. I would like The Sanctuary to be known as a place for anyone to come and experience a yogic lifestyle, one that they can incorporate into their own life patterns once back on-the-grid.

Fall is here! Finally we can toss out our tanks and cut-offs, and cuddle up with a bowl of soup, a sweater, and our sweetie (and by that we mean our dog named, Sweetie). Even if you don’t have a boyfriend to keep warm with, we’ve got the next best thing to heat things up: soup! Chef Marcella Dirks of The Sanctuary at Two Rivers – an Eco-Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica hooked us up with the recipe for this delicious vegetarian soup that will nourish your bod and satisfy your palate. With hints of all 6 tastes, the soup includes celery, carrots, zucchini, pumpkin, white beans, chard, and a fried egg with lemon to excite those taste buds! So try a cup and cuddle up (and it’s OK if its with your pup!)...

The Sanctuary at Two Rivers is the ultimate destination for travelers seeking to combine fitness, relaxation and luxury...the retreat was built by hand, without heavy construction equipment such as excavators in order to preserve the nature and sanctity of the surrounding environment. The Sanctuary sits on 40 acres of tropical forest near Cabuya, on the lower tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Regular readers of The Costa Rica Star will probably remember that this is one of the world’s fewBlue Zones, where centenarians are far more common than in other regions. The Sanctuary is clearly off-the-grid, but it is no stranger to luxury...
